Employment opportunities at Diaz Memorial Ambulance Service, Inc.
Positions exist in a community ambulance service for career minded professional EMT's and Paramedics. Diaz Memorial Ambulance Service, Inc. is the primary EMS provider for the town and village of Saugerties, N.Y. The service does 911 emergency work almost exclusively, with little or no inter-facility transport. Call volume is light to moderate. Primary hospitals are in the city of Kingston, with transport distances between 10 and 20 miles.
The area (Ulster County) EMS system is excellent; with aggressive protocols and is small enough to allow good personal working relationships with hospital staffs and MD's. We will assist paramedics in getting credentialed in the Hudson Valley Regional EMS Organization. We have a continuing education program that will assist in maintaining continuing medical education requirements, and the agency is enrolled in the NYS Continuing Education based recertification program.
Crew quarters are newly renovated and comfortable, with kitchen facilities, a separate bunk room, a computer and reading room with a computer and high-speed Internet access for laptops. We operate two box type ambulances (type 3) and one van ambulance (type 2). We also have a Dodge Durango fly car. We have LP12 monitors equipped with 12 Lead and ETCO2 monitoring capability.
We currently have full time and part time positions available for both EMT's and Paramedics. Full time paramedic positions are in the $43,250 to $48,000 range. Applicants must have a good driving record, current EMT or AEMT-P certification, and current CPR and ACLS (medics only) cards.
Saugerties is located on the Hudson River at the base of the Catskill Mountains, with good access to water recreation, skiing, hiking, camping and other outdoor activities. There are good school systems in Saugerties and the surrounding towns, with choices of town or country living, and is a very nice area to raise a family.

- From the North via Rt. 87 (NYS Thruway):
Southbound Exit 20, Turn left onto Rt. 32 South - go 1.4 mi.
(Rt. 32 turns left at the Hess station)
Turn right at the "T" at Market St. - go 2 blocks to Main St. (traffic light)
Turn left onto Main St. - go 0.5 mi.
Just before the end of Main Street, turn left into our parking lot.
Do NOT park in front of the building!
- From the South via Rt. 87 (NYS Thruway):
Northbound Exit 20, Turn right onto Rt. 32 South - go 0.9 mi.
Turn right at the "T" at Market St. - go 2 blocks to Main St. (light)
Turn left onto Main St. - go 0.5 mi.
Just before the end of Main Street, turn left into our parking lot.

- From the north via Rt. 9W:
South on Rt. 9W into the village of Saugerties
Shortly after passing "Seamon Park" on the left,
and after passing the front of Diaz Ambulance on the right,
Turn right onto Main Street and immediately turn right into our parking lot.
Do NOT park in front of the building!
- From the south via Rt. 9W or Rt. 32:
North on Rt. 9W / Rt. 32 into the village of Saugerties (traffic light)
Turn right onto Main St. - go 0.4 mi.
Just before the end of Main Street, turn left into our parking lot.
